Just a quick note to let you all know, for those who already did or didn't know, that I'm well.
My surgery was successfull yesterday. I had friends drive me down and pick me up which made life much easier. The boys were wonderful; they came home and had dinner and promptly went to bed. They were even kind enough to sleep in till 6:20 this morning so I got them ready and dropped them off at school which is where they will remain until 6pm and hopefully they will be as obliging as last night.
My nose, cheeks, and teeth hurt quite a bit but my sinuses are CLEAN! No I didn't have a nose job! I had a FESS--Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. My little deviated septum feels to be the same, so no septoplasty. I have a very stylish gause nose-drainage-catcher-thingy that I have to wear all the time and some percoset to ease the pain. I spent the night in the recliner which is where I intend to spend most of the next few days.
DH has been calling to check on me as much as possible from Stumps. He'll be home tomorrow to hopefully take care of me--I mean the kids--oh hell, I really do mean me!
Feel free to call as I am housebound for a while and rapidly getting over the Today show!

OH... you poor thing. I had my turbonaydes (sp?) shaved and it was AWFUL!!!!! I had two tampon like things shoved up my nose, then the same hitler looking gauze thing below my nose to catch the drainage. I had to leave my packing in for 4 days, and it was AWFUL!!! I hope it helps though! It made a WORLD of a difference for me! :)
XOXO
i can't really read a lot about the apparatus w/o wanting to barf, but what i came back here to SAY was that i think it's super sweet that john is calling to check on you. =)
so the list of things that induce squishy behavior: difficult labor and a c-section, massive hangovers and invasive sinus surgery...i'm sure there are lots and lots more, but that's what i got so far. hooray for sweet husbands and cooperative kids! =)
Maria, you poor thing that surgery sounds awfull I hope you have a speedy recovery and that the boys are calm and mellow like last night! Get Well soon! MM
Poor Maria!! I hope you are back to your old self in no time!!
My mom either had that surgery or something similar a few years ago. we called it the roto rooter flush. it worked well for her and hasn't had a technical "infection" since...though she still gets sinus pain every once in a while, no where near like it was. feel better soon!
I hope the surgery did the job and that you're out and about soon. Minus the nasal drain snot catcher, of course.
Maybe if you bedazzle it, no one will notice. Or they'll spend so much time wondering how long it took you to bling it out, they won't realize what you're covering up. A nifty design should help prolong the wonder AND amazement.
Hm, something to think about. hehe
